The whole development process of Australia Square Tower took some time to think over and recreate, because at first we had to do some deep, thorough researching of the exact measurements of the Tower, such as the diameter, radius, height of the tower, number of floor levels etc. As we decided to model up the tower using the program Revit we needed at least the precise measurements. It is in fact a very large building as it consists of 50 storeys and is 170 metres high with a diameter of 42 metres, core of 20 metres and radius from face of the core to the face of the outer curtain wall is 11 metres. The group split up to do different sections of the building. As it is very large, it became very slow and laggy when working on revit. The good things about using revit is that it is precise in its measurements and it can also produce really good renders, it can also be imported into 3Ds Max to do some more editing and renders that way.
The way i could remodel and reinvent the tower, as discussed with my tutor, could be blowing the model up, that is, make the building look bloated out, the columns bend outwards the same as the tower, which makes it look like a oval or football in shape. Another idea could be stretching the building on either end like a tube.
But also when blowing the tower apart, it can focus more deeply on the individual structures of the tower such as the columns and the facade as im looking more deeply into the structural theme for the building project. There is also another interesting way to remodel the building, when looking at all of Harry Seidler's Architecture, some of the architecture has been cut off or sectioned off into different parts so as in the building ends up as not being a whole structure.
